Offshore Grit, Onshore Wit: Meet the Voice of Upstream Reportbout Me
Hi, I’m the voice (and sometimes the vent) behind Upstream Repor
With 15 years riding the highs and pressures of oil and gas — from onshore gas terminals to offshore FPSOs — I’ve lived the shift work, the start-ups, the shutdowns, and the “why won’t this valve just behave?” moments. I’ve gone from trainee to supervisor, crossed oceans on vessels like the Liza Unity, and commissioned systems that now keep entire countries flowing.
But Upstream Report isn’t just about pressure gauges and process diagrams. It’s where I strip the jargon, inject humor (yes, even the “shit from the bottom” kind), and make the oil and gas industry relatable — especially for young African professionals navigating it all.
I write to spotlight the untold stories:
– The Ghanaian engineers quietly powering FPSOs abroad.
– The families behind the offshore rotations.
– The missed birthdays, the burnt coffee, the high-stakes interlock failures that nobody wants to talk about — but should.
I also champion local content, ask uncomfortable questions about talent export, and throw in the occasional “how to balance work and water business” reflection as I build my own onshore venture.
If you like your energy reporting with a side of real talk and a shot of humor — welcome aboard.
